The former will be acting as principal designer while the latter looks after the landscape and a bridge connecting the site to Northerly Island, with local firm VOA serving as executive architect.
The design is due to be released in late 2014 and, once completed, the museum will provide Chicago with a public space in which to learn about narrative art and the evolution of the moving image.
"We are bringing together some of the top architects in the world to ensure that our museum experience begins long before a visitor ever enters the building," said the Star Wars director. "I am thrilled with the architectural team's vision for the building and the surrounding green space."
